Salary:  £23,879 to £28,452

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, proactive and highly motivated events professional to join our Careers and Employability Service.

As a member of the Employer Engagement team you will work to develop and deliver a strategic and comprehensive programme of careers fairs to ensure a first class experience for students and exhibitors. The Careers and Employability Service currently runs five successful career fairs over the academic year and this post holder will have responsibility for co-ordinating, marketing and delivering these, along with other smaller events.      

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate extensive event management experience and will be highly motivated, confident and well organised. You should evidence strong skills in the planning and co-ordination of events and experience in event marketing.  You will have a track record of success in prioritising and efficiently conducting administrative support processes associated with events and/or conference coordination.

High-level organisational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required along with a proven ability to manage competing tasks under pressure. You must be capable of prioritising your own workload and be capable of using your initiative and judgement to complete tasks and projects to strict deadlines.

The successful applicant will be expected to build strong, meaningful  working relationships with key partners such as large graduate recruiters, local SME’s, and staff within faculties and professional services. You will use your marketing skills to promote activities and raise awareness of fairs across our 25,000 strong student body, and ensure information to employers and students is readily available; regularly reviewing policies and processes to be fit for purpose.

As part of the Careers and Employability Service, you will be a committed team player and will support additional projects aligned to the ongoing development of the Service. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience in using databases is essential.
