Position Overview:

As a postdoctoral fellow in Immune Modulatory Receptor (IMR) Research you will work with a highly collaborative team of scientists from Immunological research group based in MRL Palo Alto, California.

The main role of this position is to design/execute experiments in order to better understand the molecular and cellular mechanism of responsiveness and resistance to cancer immunotherapies, which will result in high quality publications and can potentially lead to novel therapies for the treatment of cancer.

Research emphasis will be laid on investigation of the interactions between tumor and immune system (such as T cells and myeloid cells) within tumor microenvironments in vivo.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Employing complex in vivo disease model systems to address specific question related to the pathogenesis of cancer and the mechanism of immune responses to it.
- Using cellular and molecular biology to implement in vitro and ex vivo techniques to dissect the in vivo observations

Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement:

- PhD in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Cell biology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry or related discipline with 3 years or less of postdoctoral experience or met all the requirements for a PhD by May 2017.

Required Experience and Skills:

- Sound knowledge, understanding, and experience in innate and adaptive immunity
- Direct experience and proficiency with in vivo model handling
- Experience in immune cell isolation and characterization using multi-color flow cytometry

Preferred Experience and Skills:

- Direct experience with in vivo model syngeneic or/and spontaneous tumor models
- Experience in immuno-oncology, inflammation, or/and chronic infection of pathogens
- Understanding and experience in antibody-based therapeutics
- Strong history of publication in peer-reviewed journals
