Job Summary:

The School of Chemistry in the Faculty of Science invites applications for a Professorial position specialising in materials for energy as part of the Materials for Energy Group.

Key Performance Areas:

Overall responsibilities would include the teaching of general, and physical / inorganic chemistry and the establishment and leadership of an independent research programme.

Key Competencies: 

The ability to work in a team environment would be an advantage. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.

Minimum Requirements:

The minimum qualification is a PhD, typically in physical or inorganic chemistry, and requires an excellent track record in energy materials with applications in batteries, supercapacitors fuel cells, solar cells and/or conductive nanomaterials.

Remuneration:

A generous remuneration package which includes a retirement fund, medical aid, leave, bonus and study benefits, subject to the University's rules and regulations.
