Duties and responsibilities:

  • Lecture to undergraduate students
  • Handle student enquiries
  • Do research
  • Involvement in community engagement projects
  • Perform administrative duties

  • Inherent requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology.
  • Registered as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conference or equivalent activities.
  • Provide evidence of manuscripts produced that have potential to be converted or submitted for publication in accredited journals.
  • A good academic record.

  • Required Competencies:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function with ease in the University’s richly diverse working environment
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office

  • Recommendations

  • Willingness to enrol for a doctoral degree in Psychology at the first available opportunity, if not yet attained by the time of the appointment
  • Proven research record of relevant publications in accredited national journals
  • Interest / expertise in at least two of the following fields of studies; Psychopathology, Personality Psychology, or Research Methodology
  • Relevant teaching experience in higher education
