The School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies (SPAIS) in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law at the University of Bristol is seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate to the position of Lecturer in Politics. The new Lecturer will be expected to demonstrate her/his potential to contribute to, or dynamically complement, the School’s existing research expertise, notably the work of our three established research centres in Global Insecurities, Gender, and Ethnicity/Citizenship. Participation in faculty collaborations and relevant University Research Institutes is also expected, as is willingness and ability to make research funding applications. Expertise in one or more of the following areas would be welcomed: political theory; comparative politics (with a particularly focus on either the United States or the politics and societies of the Middle East and North Africa); international political economy. As well as having a strong research achievement and trajectory, the successful candidate should be an excellent and enthusiastic teacher, contributing core and optional units to the politics programmes, at UG and PGT levels.
