We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced scientist with a strong background in In Vivo Pharmacology to join our Pharmacology Department at MRL-Boston. The successful candidate is expected to have strong experience in Oncology Pharmacology and drive scientific excellence by establishing best practices in Model Development, In Vivo efficacy, PK/PD, and non-GLP tolerability studies while serving as a key intellectual contributor in the conception and implementation of new projects. The role will involve significant interaction and collaboration within the company and with external partners and will require the ability to maintain positive collaborations of this nature. The selected candidate will report to the Director of In Vivo Pharmacology and is expected to work in the laboratory as needed.
The successful candidate will have a track record of innovative and collaborative research as demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications in oncology and/or tumor immunotherapy. They will perform experiments using preclinical species to support the discovery of novel compounds for the treatment of cancer. Experience in managing external studies at CROs and at academic collaborators is a plus. An ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with colleagues in the pharmacology department as well as scientists from different disciplines is essential.
Qualifications
Education:
- PhD with at least 4 years of experience in oncology drug discovery.
Required:
- Experience using preclinical models to evaluate the pharmacology of novel cancer drugs
- A minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience; at least 2 years industry experience is preferred
- Candidate should be a strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills and with a demonstrated ability to work independently to design experiments, interpret data, troubleshoot, and suggest next steps
- Proven skills in leading small scientific teams
Preferred:
- Experience with syngeneic tumor models and genetically engineered mouse models of cancer to support the development of novel tumor immunotherapy programs
- Experience managing external projects, including study design, data and sample management
- Experience in Cell Biology, Cell Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology focused on oncology or tumor immunology
