Cell Line Development is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Principal Scientist to help develop and characterize early and late stage mammalian commercial cell lines to support innovative biological pipeline projects. The successful candidate should have industrial experience related to commercial CHO cell line development.

Candidate must have experience in an in-depth understanding of cell biology/molecular biology and hand-on experience of molecular subcloning, vector design, mammalian culture and cloning. Candidate must have experience in executing complex study designs requiring highly organized data collection and management. The selected candidate will be expected to work independently, including proactive planning, trouble shooting and successful execution of complex experimental protocols for cell line development and technology assessment. The selected candidate will be developed to serve as a technical lead and functional area representative on project teams.

Qualifications

Education:

- PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related Biological Sciences with at least 3 years of cell line development experience in industry.

- OR MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related Biological Sciences with at least 6 years of cell line development experience in industry.

- OR BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related Biological Sciences with at least 10 years of cell line development experience in industry.

Required:

- Experienced in developing cell line development for protein expression.

- Experienced in coordinate CLD responsibilities for pipeline project and ensure timely communication between CLD and other functional areas within CMC team.

- Excellent project leadership skills in driving for results and innovation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work in team environment.

- Deep knowledge in molecular biology and mammalian cell cultures.

- Experienced in vector construction.

- Experienced in IND filing and relevant documentation.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred:

- Experienced in FACS sorting cell line development.

- Experienced in cell bank characterization.

- Experienced in automation and liquid handling equipment.

- Expertise of database and statistical software (e.g. Excel, JMP)
