Job Details
You will work on an ESRC-NRF Higher Education in South Africa project under the theme ‘Organisation of Higher Education systems, Higher Education Institutions and alternative providers’ to explore the process of institutional change in South Africa, focusing on the emerging business models, new educational technologies and innovative forms of educational provision. The project is a joint project with teams located at the University of Leeds, UK and the University of Cape Town, South Africa. The role is based at the University of Leeds.
With a successfully completed Degree/Masters (or about to submit) in a relevant field of study, you will have clear research interests in one or more areas of: educational challenges from an international development perspective, innovation in education technologies and its impact on Higher Education, and socio-technology research.
You will provide general research support for the Leeds research team. This will involve analysing qualitative data, mainly in the form of interviews, supporting the collection of additional data by organising and attending events, carrying out literature searches and reviews, the analysis of available datasets, documents and other artefacts, and preparing drafts of papers and other project outputs. You will possess excellent analytical and writing skills and the ability to deal with a variety of tasks to set deadlines. The ability to work alone or as part of a team is essential, as are strong organisational skills. The post may involve some travel within the UK.
