The Rheumatology Division - Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Sao Paulo, offers one post-doctoral research grant (physician, pharmacist, biologist, biomedical or related areas). Exclusive dedication will be required for the fellow (40-hour workweek). The scholarship has a total duration of 24 months and will be funded by the Sao Paulo Research Foundation -- FAPESP (process number 2016/00006-7, period: August 1st, 2017 to July 31st, 2022).

The title of this project is: “Evaluation of Bone Metabolism Parameters by HR-pQCT and Histomorphometry in Rheumatoid Arthritis and Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis Patients: Association with Clinical and Genetic Variables.”
The opportunity is in the area of bone metabolism and evaluation of bone erosions in rheumatic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis) by HR-pQCT (High Resolution Peripheral Quantitative Computed Tomography). Candidates should have knowledge and experience in the acquisition and analysis of images obtained by this methodology in the metacarpophalangeal region. It is required doctoral degree for Brazilians or an equivalent degree for foreigners.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP’s Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 7.174,80 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
