Assistant or Associate Professor of Silviculture
The Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation at Virginia Tech invites applications for a 12-month, tenure-track, teaching and research position in the area of intensive silviculture. The faculty member will also serve as the co-director of the Forest Productivity Cooperative (FPC), an industry-university partnership that integrates research, technology transfer, and continuing education in the southeastern US and Latin America. FPC co-directorship represents a partnership between Virginia Tech, North Carolina State University, Universidad de Concepción (Chile), and Universidad de Santa Catarina (Brazil).
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. with emphasis in silviculture, with strong promise for developing an outstanding program of teaching, research, and outreach. For Associate Professor Rank, appropriate candidate experience and accomplishments required.
- Forest management experience/training.
Preferred:
- Undergraduate degree in forestry
- Experience in plantation forests
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with industry and/or agency partners.
