About us

Corrections Victoria (CV) implements court judgments and orders of the Adult Parole Board. It sets strategy, policy and standards for the management of the state's system of correctional facilities. It also develops programs for the management and rehabilitation of prisoners and the community based supervision of offenders.

CV is committed to contributing to a safer community through the delivery of evidence based offence specific and offence related group based interventions to reduce reoffending among sexual, violent and general offenders.

CV has an expanding clinical workforce responsible for delivering offence specific interventions to sex offenders and violent offenders across prisons, community correctional services, and post-sentence supervision scheme orders.

About the role

CV has recently created a new senior technical position as Clinical Director, based at 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne.

The introduction of a Clinical Director role to the CV senior management team recognises the importance of clinical leadership, professional development and support of our clinical workforce, and the opportunity that corrections service delivery and program data provide to enhance the knowledge base of how to effect behaviour change in offending populations.
The role will lead workforce strategies to enhance offence specific service delivery capability across the corrections system and to contribute to research and knowledge on 'what works' in addressing criminogenic needs.

As the Clinical Director, you will provide clinical leadership across the corrections allied health workforce and promote quality and service improvement through forward-thinking evaluation and research across the organisation. You will also focus on systems to support a distributed workforce and ensure professional supervision and clinical governance processes, and will develop formal research relationships with universities and create opportunities for professional development by supporting clinicians to undertake research and contribute to the evidence base of criminogenic treatment.

About you

We are seeking candidates who:

  • are professionally recognised by peers as an expert in the delivery of offence specific interventions
  • have a demonstrated record of achievement in the development of system enablers to support complex service delivery, including clinical workforce attraction and retention strategies and clinical governance processes
  • have specialist experience in contribution to research, including peer reviewed publications and successful grant applications
  • are able to specialist demonstrate knowledge in corrections/forensic‐related research projects, including risk assessment, delivery and/or evaluation of interventions in correctional settings
