The Macmillan Survivorship Research Group (MSRG) http://www.southampton.ac.uk/msrg, Faculty of Health Sciences, is seeking an outstanding individual to join the team to contribute to the MSRG programme of research and associated projects in the field of cancer survivorship. Working with a Senior Research Fellow and other MSRG staff, the post-holder will take responsibility for statistical analysis plans, data analyses and preparing results for publication or presentation. 

You will have a PhD or an MSc in Medical Statistics or closely related discipline and preferably some experience in a research environment. Candidates should have a detailed understanding and knowledge of statistical techniques including analysis of longitudinal studies, having a working knowledge of statistical analysis programs such as SPSS or STATA, possess initiative, able to work within a multidisciplinary environment and able to communicate statistical issues to non-statisticians. The post-holder will need to work effectively with members of MSRG including researchers, trial manager and co-ordinators, administrative, database management and web development staff, and also with funders and partners to develop, deliver and disseminate the work of the research programme. Meticulous attention to detail will be required in collating study data and organising results, and experience of writing reports.

The post is offered full-time for 1 year in the first instance with a possibility of extension.
