Faculty of Science

The Faculty of Science is one of the largest and most diverse Faculties within The University of Queensland and within Science Faculties across Australia. The Faculty of Science incorporates six schools and four research centres. The units within the Faculty are internationally recognised and their teaching and research successes create a stimulating environment within which the Faculty staff work. The Faculty is managed by the Executive Dean, who has direct responsibility for the physical, financial and human resources, academic matters relating to programs and students, and a range of other areas such as the development of research, national and international marketing, and enhanced government, business and community links.

 

The role

Reporting to the Faculty Infrastructure Planning Business Partner and the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences School Manager/Director of the Gatton Campus, this position supports the School's/Directorate's facilities and infrastructure portfolio. The successful applicant will be responsible for identifying the facilities maintenance requirements, ensuring works are logged and rectified in a timely and accurate manner, and providing support and assistance on infrastructure projects, while supporting the continuity of School/Directorate services and operations. This will see the appointee liaising with Property & Facilities and OHS to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained throughout all teaching and research laboratories and associated equipment. In addition, this position is also responsible for managing local space allocation, asset services, SiPass control and database management related to infrastructure and facility services. 

 

The person

Applicants should possess a Bachelor degree in a relevant field, with subsequent relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience. In addition, you should have demonstrated experience working in teaching and research laboratories, a strong client focus, experience managing small facilities and infrastructure projects, and an organised and methodical approach to tasks.

Remuneration

This is a full-time continuing appointment at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $66,347 - $74,098 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $77,626 - $86,695 p.a.).
