Campus Operations Assistant (Dubai)

This post will be based in Dubai, UAE on a Fixed term contract for 3 years. The working schedule will include working on evenings and weekends in accordance with the UAE labour law.

Based in Dubai, this is a unique opportunity for an experienced individual to assist in the development and implementation of the range of student and academic systems at the University of Birmingham's Branch campus in Dubai. Reporting to the Director of Campus Operations, the post-holder will be working in collaboration with Professional Services at the University of Birmingham. As a member of the Professional Services team, the post-holder will support and assist the Academic staff in the provision of a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to be delivered by Business School, School of Computer Science, School of Education and the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the first instance.

Phase 1 of the development will be to lead the delivery of a range of campus services in a building which will be in Dubai International Academic City (DIAC). Teaching will commence September 2018 and the anticipated student numbers will be 300 in 2018/19 and 450 in 2019/2020. Phase 2 will see the full campus in operation by September 2020 and the student cohort will eventually be around 4500.

The approach to the role and hours of work will be flexible and as required to meet demands that can have a changeable pattern across the year. The working week in Dubai is from Sunday to Thursday, and in the UK is Monday to Friday, so a flexible approach is essential to this role.
