Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Fire Retardant Materials

$99,231 - $131,629 (dependant on academic level) per annum plus 17% superannuation. This is a full-time (36.75 hours per week) continuing appointment.

Centre for Environmental Safety and Risk Engineering (CESARE) is part of The College of Engineering and Science at Victoria University. CESARE has earned high international reputation for its research in fire safety engineering, specifically in the areas of Fire Dynamics, Fire Protection, Performance-based Fire Safety Design, Structural Fire Engineering, Human Behavior in Fires.  It also delivers a number of high quality postgraduate courses.

We are seeking to make a high calibre appointment to expand CESARE activities into Fire Retardant Materials, Fire Chemistry and Toxicity, and related areas. You will be highly motivated and dynamic academic who will make significant contributions to both teaching and research. Significant accomplishments in the above areas will be required, along with demonstrated ability to lead and develop research and teaching activities.

You must hold a relevant PhD in Materials Engineering, Applied Science, Fire and Materials Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related Engineering field. Attracting external research funding, supervision of postgraduate and final year students and high level involvement in ongoing CESARE research will be expected. You will bring your expertise to the Centre and will be actively involved in a range of research, research training  and teaching activities.
