Reed Scientific are recruiting a Research Biochemist to join a growing R&D team located in South Wales. This is a key role and as a self starter, you will be developing resins for enzyme immobilisation and immobilised enzymes.
Job Description
You will be required to:
* Analyse structural features of enzymes (databases, literature).
* Understanding immobilisation methods.
* Develop analytical methods for characterisation of products.
* Develop suitable immobilisation methods that can be moved to large scale production (interaction with production managers worldwide).
* Listen, identify and address customer needs.
* Work collaboratively with the R&D team in the development of new resins for enzyme immobilisation.
* Write and present technical papers at major conferences.
* Work in collaboration with Universities and Research Institutes.
Person Specification
5-10 years experience in research involving Biocatalysis and Biotransformations (Aqueous, Biphasic and Organic media), Synthesis of active compounds through Biocatalysed Process, Chiral Enzymatic Process Development.
Career Level: Experienced, looking for growth.
Education Level: PhD (or equivalent) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry or related subject with experience in Biocatalysis and/or Bioprocesses.
Salary: Competitive.
