Job title: Bioengineer
Job type: 12 month contract + extensions + potential permanent position
Location: Leeds, UK
Salary: £20 - £25/hour
A Bioengineer with product development experience is required by a leading medical device company based in the Leeds area
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing input into new product design and innovation, as well as supporting the selection of components and manufacturing equipment
In return, a salary of £20 to £25/hour is on offer, as well as the chance to work with an industry leading organisation
Job scope:
- To provide a professionally expert level of innovative skill and knowledge in specific technical areas, which have been defined as major business opportunities or interests, and to create products within these areas, which successfully meet customer and company, needs
- To have overall responsibility to his/her Manager for the attainment of technical goals agreed in relation to project objectives with the minimum level of guidance and within agreed deadlines
- May be given responsibility for specifying product designs and influencing the choice of raw materials, processes and equipment necessary to develop and manufacture products
- To adhere to the company's procedures as detailed in the SOP manual
- Introduce new technology and methodology as appropriate to increase the effectiveness of the business
- May be given responsibility as Project Leader for new product introduction or other types of development project
- To provide cover as required for other Senior Bioengineers and Bioengineers
- To provide a world-class service to customers, both within and without R&D
- Will handle several projects concurrently depending in the magnitude of each
- Should work within a small team of the R&D Development Group which consists typically of 2, 3 or 4 Bioengineers with appropriate supervision Key Competencies Required

Qualifications & Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific subject, with solid experience in a relevant technical area
OR
- MSc or PhD in a relevant scientific subject with some experience in a specific technical area
- An understanding of commercial considerations and creative R&D ability is essential for the job holder
