BASIC: £40,000 - £45,000

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Contributory pension scheme with a maximum company contribution of 8% of salary + Life cover of 4 x salary and membership in a Group Income Protection scheme for Long Term Sickness +Annual bonus that can pay up to £1,000 pa +25 days annual holiday

Reporting to the Board, you will be joining at an exciting time in the Company`s evolution and spearhead this expansion through a series of new product launches.

JOB SPECIFICATION: Product Development Manager - Medical Devices

Ownership for delivering projects within New Product Development. To include feasibility studies and detailed product design work, taking new product ideas from bench to plant scale.
You will develop continuous knowledge of existing products, markets and the evolving regulatory environment, in order to develop strategies for introducing next generation products.
Accountability for transforming new product ideas into viable new product designs, initially on a pilot scale, meeting specified customer requirements.
Management of quality and operational aspects of NPD.
Liaise with the Commercial team and customers, to allow fast and effective progress towards agreed targets.
Assess financial, patent, legal and regulatory matters associated with new product designs.
Identify and resolve HSE issues associated with development projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

You will be educated to degree level with a minimum 2i in Polymer Chemistry or Material Science.
Tangible experience of the development of products for the medical devices sector.
Awareness of medical device regulations, e.g. The Medical Device Directive, ISO13485. FDA QSR 21 CFR 820
Strong project management skills.
Hands-on ability to carry out trials work at all scales of operation.
Awareness of relevant HSE issues.
