One of the oldest academic medical institutions in the country, the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo (UB), The State University of New York (SUNY), seeks an innovative academic hematologist to lead the Division at an exciting time in its history.
As Division Chief, Hematology of UB’s Department of Medicine, he/she will recruit and mentor academically outstanding faculty members, grow multidisciplinary clinical programs and expand research activities of the Division. As an academic leader with the rank of Associate/Full Professor in the Department of Medicine, he/she will work with the administrative and physician leaders of UB’s affiliated hospitals on operations improvement, program and facilities development, quality/safety and strategic planning.
UB School of Medicine and UB’s affiliated hospitals are expanding clinical and research programs and look to the next Division Chief of Hematology to advance academic and clinical growth in medical and surgical services.
Preference will be accorded to candidates with an MD or MD/PhD and a sustained record of academic accomplishment, management experience within an academic medical center and a national reputation for leadership in hematology. Candidates must be board-certified in hematology or hematology/oncology and New York State medical license-eligible.
