Job title: Microbiologist
Job type: 6 month contract + extensions
Location: Leeds, Yorkshire, North England
Salary: £12 to £13/hour
A Microbiologist with environmental monitoring experience is required by a leading medical company based in Leeds
The ideal candidate will be responsible for microbial monitoring of manufacturing / production areas, as well as report writing / submission
In return, a salary of £12 to £13/hour is on offer, as well as the chance to work with an industry leading organisation
Job purpose:
*To carry out regular microbial monitoring of clean room facilities, to analyse results and
recommend corrective action where appropriate
*To work with Production and NPD on the Validation of new products and processes and on the
investigation of problems and participate in Company projects, as required
*To ensure that the principles of cGMP are applied and that all documentation, in the form of
procedures and specifications, is followed to guarantee compliance with ISO 13485, FDA QSRs
and the Medical Devices Directive
*Support compliance and document management related activities
Principal Accountabilities:
*Ensure that all routine microbiological testing is performed in a timely manner in line with
agreed schedules
*GMP / Quality Systems*
*Completion of Microbiology records ensuring compliance to GMP, consistency and traceability
*Data entry, trending and trend report writing
*Initiate and lead the investigation and completion of NCs, deviations, and data excursions
*Action owner or team participant in CAPA investigations and Internal Audits
*Compliance to all local and company procedures
*To follow the company local, HS&E and Quality procedures
*Training*
* To provide support, training and advice to personnel working within clean room environments
* Advise where behavioural improvements may be made
*To ensure that training records are accurate and up to date
*Validation*
*Participate or lead (as delegated) the validation of test methods, equipment and processes
owned by Microbiology
*Generation of documents, protocols and reports capturing validation activities
Qualifications & Experience:
*Minimum of BSc in Microbiology or Biological Sciences
*Experience within a Microbiology or Quality role is advantageous
*Good communication skills with people at all levels
*Must be technically skilled and familiar with a wide variety of relevant technologies and test
methods
*Knowledge of cGMP and regulatory standards
*Knowledge of the medical device (or closely-related, healthcare, etc) industry
*Must be PC literate, and familiar with MS Office applications
