Molecular Pathology Director
The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine invites applications for the position of Director of Molecular Pathology. The Department and the College of Medicine have committed substantial resources to the development of a Molecular Pathology program and will provide the candidate with research laboratory space, additional faculty recruitments and development funds commensurate with the needs and experience of the candidate. The candidate will also play a central role in development of core laboratories for the University of Florida Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI).
The requirements for the position include leadership experience in the development, implementation and interpretation of new diagnostic tests in genomics/personalized medicine and molecular oncology. Candidates with a history of NIH research funding and/or experience in clinical laboratory research and development are highly encouraged to apply. The candidate should also have a strong interest in developing training programs in translational molecular pathology.
The position rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates should hold a MD, DO, MD/PhD or PhD and be licensed in Molecular Genetic Pathology (ABP) or Clinical Molecular Genetics (ABMG). Appropriate state licensure or eligibility is required.
