
Scientific Advisor Medical in the South West (Home based / Regional travel)
This is a perm role with approx salary of £40,000 - £50,000 + 15% bonus. A car will be provided.
The Scientific Advisor is responsible for providing balanced non promotional high level scientific and technical support to internal and external customers and:
Works in a complementary manner to the promotional team to ensure that any unsolicited request for off label information from Healthcare professionals (HCPs) is provided
Aligns all activities with the national and regional strategies as well as legal requirements
Provides the Medical functional link to their aligned region to ensure scientific support is requested and provided in a compliant manner
Works collaboratively with the regional team to support any other additional in licence scientific request that is requested either via the HCP or the sales team
Supports internal training at the request of the division teams and/or regional team to ensure the promotional team receive up to date scientific, clinical and therapeutic updates in accordance with company approved materials.
Collaborates with medical advisors, division teams and appropriate personnel to execute the medical plans in the field to support brand and therapy area objectives.
Communicates effectively to the appropriate internal personnel any competitor intelligence, horizon scanning information and scientific and any clinical opportunities with external stakeholders.
Experience and Qualifications required:
Educated to degree level or equivalent with a scientific qualification, PhD level is preferable.
Competent to critically appraise studies and clinical evidence so as to allow engagement on higher scientific level with customers
Ability to engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) regarding managing the publications process
Knowledge the pharmaceutical industry and of regulatory processes (Code of Practice and MHRA)
Thorough knowledge of all products and disease areas so as to be able to run workshops/ training sessions and pass on knowledge to internal and external customers
Working knowledge of the NHS, including the ability to understand customer priorities and how processes work within this system.
Understanding of the business and awareness of its commercial objectives.
Knowledge of clinical studies set up and maintenance.
Proven experience of building strong working relationships internally and externally to achieve results.
Ability to collaborate and share information to contribute to the planning process and execute the agreed plan in line with objectives.
Detailed understanding of ABPI Code of Practice and its practical application in a business environment.
