The Company

One of the world`s largest suppliers of Own Label OTC medicines. The company has a strong global presence and employs around 500 people across two UK sites. They place a strong emphasis on continuous growth and development and are currently expanding. This role has come up due to an internal promotion and the growth of the department.

The Role

Using your skills and experience to the full, you will be responsible for defining and leading technical projects to develop and introduce new products into 3rd party manufacturing sites across the globe. You will also take the lead in providing solutions to technical problems that occur with existing suppliers.

You will be based full-time in the Yorkshire office and will liaise with a number of on-site and off-site contacts, overseeing technical manufacturing, packaging and supply chain projects, particularly from a Validation and Formulation & Development perspective. You will be tasked to standardise all GMP processes and drive continuous improvement projects, both internally and externally.

You will travel frequently to other countries (particularly India), sometimes in a team but often on your own. This position requires the ability to build relationships with people at all levels, to make big decisions and work on your own initiative.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have a higher qualification in a scientific discipline (preferably Chemistry or Formulation Science), together with proven experience in Formulation & Development gained in a GMP-compliant Pharmaceutical environment. You must have some experience of Tech Transfer, preferably working with international suppliers (CMOs), providing technical scientific expertise at all levels.

You must be willing to travel internationally, often on your own.

You must have excellent communication and project management skills, together with a strong commercial awareness and understanding of cost benefit approaches to scientific development.
