We are seeking a seasoned, creative engineering professional who will work in cross-functional teams including engineering and scientific disciplines.  The incumbent will research, develop, design, test and document improvements to PerkinElmer’s automation and microfluidic instruments from a system perspective, including software, firmware, electrical, and/or mechanical components. The exciting and fast paced environment of the Hopkinton campus provides the opportunity to work collaboratively with top engineers and scientists.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead proof-of-concept efforts from a system perspective, driving studies and experiments in the initial stages of a project.  
  • Lead integration efforts from a system perspective in product development ensuring designs meet requirements.
  • Research, develop, test and document improvements to PerkinElmer’s automation and microfluidic instruments from a system perspective, including software, firmware, electrical, and/or mechanical components.
  • Work with customers, marketing, and senior staff defining new products and enhancements to existing products.
  • Interact with Operations and Technical Support to assist in knowledge transfer, product transition, and customer support of PerkinElmer products.
  • Provide team leadership and technical direction including project management when needed.
  • Work individually and in groups in order to provide innovative design solutions.
