The Vice President, Global Sourcing of PerkinElmer will report to the Vice President of Global Operations and will run global sourcing for the company to achieve aggressive annual direct and indirect material savings targets and to optimize effectiveness and efficiency of the global purchasing organization in support of the businesses growth and profitability strategies for a low volume, high tech manufacturing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a global organization responsible for the direct purchasing and optimization of our strategic purchasing strategies for $1 billion in materials annually. S/he will provide leadership, vision, direction and guidance to ensure that critical business goals - cost reduction, schedule performance, quality and compliance are met or exceeded. The individual will be required to collaborate with the Customer Operations leadership team and related business teams (R&D, Quality, Legal, etc.) to deliver operational and financial plans that meet or exceed the company's goals. The role is highly collaborative and will deploy the Global Sourcing and Procurement organization to support major regulatory compliance programs and the Company's indirect spend reduction programs.

  • Demonstrated capability to accelerate sourcing localization of materials of highly scientific applications
  • Establish and implement organization and processes to continuously improve Supplier Quality and Productivity, while reducing overall number of suppliers
  • Develop lean processes and consignment inventory programs that increased forecast accuracy and optimized inventories
  • Deploy teams that worked collaboratively with R&D/Engineering organizations in identifying opportunities to minimize number of single source supplier relationships, as well as optimize material costs for all New Product Introductions (NPIs)
  • Analyzes information about supplier performance or procurement program success - establish strategic supplier scorecards
  • Analyzes inventories to drive increased inventory turns, reduce waste and optimize customer service
  • Designs and implements supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, and/or cost reduction strategies; innovate procedures and systems to evaluate and select suppliers
  • Augments and develops procedures for coordination of purchasing management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production and quality assurance
  • Innovates and implements new and/or improved purchasing processes
  • Establishes management dashboard to understand and characterize activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing
  • Executes duties in a customer-focused, cooperative team approach with all Company personnel, especially requirements of diverse business units
