Description:
Joining a highly motivated, fast paced team focused on rapid advancement of Merck’s biologics and vaccines pipelines, plus growth of existing products.
Responsibilities:
- Direct a group of scientists focused on the design and performance of studies directed at late stage development and validation of assays and methods supporting Merck’s biologics pipeline and inline products.
- Experience with the following techniques: Bioassay, ELISA, Glycan analysis, Chromatography, Electrophoresis, Peptide mapping, LC/MS.
- Lead a group of scientists in the design and execution of method transfers to Merck global network of biologics and vaccines nodes. Participate locally as required (up to 30%).
- Project leadership and People management.
- Demonstrated ability to Direct a growing team of analytical scientists in the late stage commercialization and commercial environment.
- Highly developed communication, team building and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to function well in ambiguity.
- Track record of achievement in the Biopharmaceutical industry particularly in the areas of biologics or vaccines analytics.
- Exemplary scientific record, plus clear knowledge of compliance and regulatory landscape in large molecule analytics especially with respect to assay validation.
Qualifications
Experience with: Bioassay, ELISA, Glycan analysis, Chromatography, Electrophoresis, Peptide mapping, LC/MS.
- Experience leading a group in the design and execution of method transfers to a national and global network of biologics and vaccines nodes.

- Bachelor's degree in Bio-Engineering, bio-related Science or related-field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in biologics or vaccines method development, plus validation; or Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience as above; or Ph.D. with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience as above.
