The Department invites applications for a Research Assistant Professorship in experimental surface science and materials science.

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in physics or chemistry; (ii) experimental research experience in at least one of the following fields:
- CVD, PVD and MBE growth of thin film 
- device fabrication 
- STM/STS, spin-polarized STM, AFM, KPFM 
- SEM, XRD, XPS, ARPES

The appointee will (a) work closely with faculty members in research on surface science and thin film solar cells using various growth techniques and nanoscopic analysis methods (Information about relevant research in the Department can be found at http://www.phy.cuhk.edu.hk.); (b) demonstrate a strong record of research accomplishments, potential for establishing externally funded research programmes; and (c) undertake light teaching duties at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
