Job Description

The laboratory for Cell Biology Inspired Tissue Engineering within the MERLN Institute invites applications for a full-time and fully funded PhD student position in the area of cell-biomaterial interaction. The candidate will use her/his knowledge at the exciting crossroads of cell biology, materials science and bioinformatic in the field of regenerative medicines. 

Requirements

We invite candidates with a Master’s degree in biology, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, material science or similar. Outstanding knowledge of English is required. We are looking for a new colleague with outstanding research skills, enthusiasm, team spirit, and ambition.

Conditions

The full-time position is offered for four years (1+3), with a yearly evaluation. Your salary would be € 2.125,- gross per month in the first year up to € 2.717,- gross per month in the fourth year according to the PhD-candidate salary scale. On top of this, there is an 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance.

Research at the MERLN Institute for Technology-inspired Regenerative Medicine is focused on developing novel and challenging technologies to advance the field of tissue and organ repair and regeneration. Within MERLN, the laboratory for Cell Biology-inspired Tissue Engineering (cBITE -merln.maastrichtuniversity.nl/content/cell-biology-inspired-tissue-regeneration-cbite) focuses on understanding and applying cell biological principles in the field of biomedical engineering, in particular in the regeneration of bone tissue.
