The Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT) comprises the Schools of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Mining Engineering, and the Advanced Water Management Centre. These units are internationally recognised and their teaching and research successes create a stimulating environment within which the Faculty staff work.

The Faculty is managed by the Executive Dean, who has direct responsibility for the physical, financial and human resources, academic matters relating to programs and students, and a range of other areas such as the development of research, national and international marketing, and enhanced government, business and community links. The role

This position is advertised across two levels and the appointment is contingent on qualifications, experience and skills of the preferred candidate.

At HEW Level 5: the candidate will provide administrative support to the development and management of research and associated engagement activities within the Faculty; or

At HEW Level 6: the candidate will provide high level administrative support to the development and management of research and associated engagement activities within the Faculty.

The successful candidate will work with closely with the Associate Dean (Research) and the Faculty Research Manager.

 

The person

Applicants should possess a degree and relevant experience in university administration or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

The successful candidate will have well-developed administrative skills and excellent attention to detail along with an ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. The capacity to gain knowledge of higher education policies and procedures in relation to research administration is essential.

Applicants should also have highly-developed interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

 

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for two years at HEW Level 5 or HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $62,716 p.a up to $77,635 p.a (depending on qualifications and experience), plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $73,378 up to $90,833 p.a.).
