Postdoctoral research fellow

The School of Civil Engineering is one of the largest schools in Australia with 34 full-time academic staff members who are widely published internationally and have extensive research backgrounds ranging from structures, fluids, coastal, environmental, geotechnical, transport and fire. The School has recently initiated a 3-year, $2M research program with the Port of Brisbane, which does considerable import/export business, including containers, agricultural products, coal and other bulk products. The School also maintains research arrangements with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, including the ASTRA Chair in Transport Engineering..

The role

The successful appointee will engage in both independent and collaborative research, and in postgraduate supervision, as a postdoctoral research fellow. The appointee(s) will perform high quality research to further develop the transport engineering group within the School of Civil Engineering and, if relevant, with cognate Schools and Institutes within UQ.

The person

Applicants should possess PhD qualifications in transport engineering, planning or management. You should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research career in health behaviour, good general research skills, a strong methodological background, excellent statistical and analytic skills, very good writing abilities, and the capacity to work with multidisciplinary research teams.

Remuneration

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $62,654 - $84,985 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $73,305 - $99,432 p.a.).
