Professional Learning Manager - Kohia Centre

Faculty of Education & Social Work 

Epsom Campus

The Kohia Centre provides a wide range of professional learning and development opportunities and resources for primary, secondary and early childhood educators and will become the venue for the delivery of post graduate qualifications.  The Centre is based at the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the University of Auckland’s Epsom campus. The Faculty’s collective commitment to the vision of Leading Learning, Changing Lives drives our teaching, learning and research. 

The Kohia Centre has a full time, permanent opportunity for a Professional Learning Manager. This position will oversee the delivery of professional learning programmes, supporting the scoping and development of business opportunities relating to the ongoing education and professional development of teachers, and of those working in the social services sector. The evaluation of courses and conferences with a view to continuous improvement is a key component of this role.  In addition, the ability to engage with and forge strong relationships with current/future external and internal facilitators and to actively promote Kohia business to key stakeholders is vital. 

To be successful in this position you will possess sector credibility; sound commercial acumen and the ability to be a team player and leader.  You will also have strong administration skills and will be able to manage detailed processes. A Bachelor’s degree is essential and current teacher registration is preferred. A strong interest in education policy and trends will support your up to date knowledge and ability to design professional learning programmes that meet the needs of the sector. A Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s Degree would be highly regarded as will experience in project management, report writing and evaluative skills.
