THE DIVISION OF OTORHINOLARYNGOLOGY, DEPARTMENT OF NEUROSCIENCES IN THE SCHOOL OF CLINICAL MEDICINE AT FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCE
(5 years Contract)
The Division of Otorhinolaryngology invites suitably qualified joint staff interested in being part of a dynamic, growing academic department, to apply for the post. This post would be suitable for those with a passion for academic excellence and educational leadership in a multi-disciplinary environment, possesses exceptional interpersonal skills, have the capacity for innovative and original thinking, and ability to exercise a high degree of personal initiative in organising his/her own responsibilities and a commitment to working to deadlines calmly and efficiently.
Qualifications:

A medical qualification appropriate for a professorial appointment,
Research experience and possession of a PhD would be advantageous but are not essential requirement,
This position calls for an incumbent with strong communication, organizational, problem solving, leadership and project management skills.
Must have the ability to manage change in the division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research.
She/he will monitor and report on the adequacy and appropriate standard of teaching.
To promotes staff development and where possible to further the mission and vision of the School of Clinical Medicine and the Division of Otorhinolaryngology.
Encourages collaboration between the departments within the teaching paltform.
Management of staff performance and assessment within the division.
Set norms and standards for the maintenance of service delivery and quality outputs in the department.
Ensure that the strategic plan and turnaround strategy of the hospital and division is implemented.
