CLINICAL RESEARCH WORKERS x 2 12 month contract SOUTH AFRICAN TUBERCULOSIS VACCINE INITIATIVE (SATVI)
DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES
The South African Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative (SATVI), located within the Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for two 12 month contract positions. The appointees will be part of a dynamic team and responsible for recruitment, care and transport of the clinical trial participants, collection of specimens and data.
The positions are based at the SATVI Project Office, Brewelskloof Hospital in Worcester. Current projects include the determination of Tuberculosis infection and disease status in study populations, Tuberculosis Vaccine trials, Tuberculosis Treatment trials and Tuberculosis diagnostic trials.
Essential requirements include:
- Senior certificate (Grade 12)
- 1-2 years administrative experience
- Valid driver’s license and actively driving
- Fluency in English, as well IsiXhosa
Additional desirable requirements include:
- Computer Literacy skills
- Human relations ability
- Communication skills
- Good record keeping skills and experience
- Knowledge of; TB, HIV and the Boland Overberg region
- Counselling experience
The annual cost of employment, including benefits is between R92 280.00 - R161 140.00 and will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
