A postdoctoral position is available immediately for highly motivated individuals at the Department of Pediatrics, to study mechanisms of the alveolar miRNome regulation by the lung innate immunity molecules, SP-A1and SP-A2, as well as the translational control of SP-A1 and SP-A2 by miRNAs and proteins. Candidates should have a doctoral degree and a strong background in cell and molecular biology and biochemistry as well as the ability to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and data. The candidate should be well versed with web-based scientific applications and experience (desired but not necessary) to work with large data sets.

The successful candidate is expected to have a strong work ethic, excellent organizational and communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and display initiative and independence. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to present his/her work in various scientific meetings and may have the opportunity to participate in various collaborative projects. Salary is based on NIH salary levels.
