Faculty of Engineering

Chemical and Biological Engineering is a thriving department within the University's Faculty of Engineering, comprising 38 academic staff, 45 research staff and technicians, 20 support staff and over 500 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The Department has a vibrant research and teaching culture spanning particle science and technology / nanotechnology, new energy technologies, the environment and applications of post-genomics bioscience for biotechnology and bioprocessing applications. We're ranked amongst the UK's top five Chemical Engineering departments for world leading and internationally excellent research and ranked number one for research environment based on the results of our Unit of Assessment in the Research Excellence Framework 2014.

 

The Role

This post will lead the marketing and communications activity across the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering to provide a professional and effective service which promotes student recruitment, research activity and delivers effective internal communications.

The postholder will be responsible for the development and execution of the marketing plan for the department.

  • You will hold a qualification in marketing and have proven experience of publicity and marketing activities, particularly web based and social media platforms.
  • With an ability to assess and organise resources you will have experience of developing and executing a marketing plan, preferably for a diverse or multiple work areas.
  • You will be possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to communicate to different audiences effectively.
