Applications are invited a Lectureship in health psychology (sexual health) that will consolidate and expand the world leading research strengths of the Centre for Community and Clinical Applications of Health Psychology. This is a newly formed Centre which incorporates the Centre for Applications of Health Psychology (http://www.southampton.ac.uk/psychology/research/groups/centre_for_applications_of_health_psychology.page) and the Centre for Sexual Health Research (http://www.southampton.ac.uk/psychology/research/groups/centre_for_sexual_health_research.page).

This post will be shared with Southampton NHS Trust sexual health service and will specifically focus on sexual health research and delivery, including (but not restricted to) digital interventions.  This is an exciting new development to enable greater applicability and impact of health and community psychology into the future.

This post is fixed term in nature for 12 months in the first instance due to due to funding and commissioning restraints.

You will be responsible to the Head of Psychology and will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in health and/or community psychology with a focus on sexual health.  You will have the ability to form a linkage between your research and the current core interests of the Centre for Clinical Applications of Health Psychology, and evidence excellence in teaching. You will have the capacity to register to study for the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP) where relevant. 

You will contribute to the Centre’s substantial programme of research into digital interventions (www.lifeguideonline.org) and undertake research in the field sexual health, including digital interventions. 

We are also recruiting a Lecturer in health Psychology with whom you will work closely, this position will be shared with the Faculty of Medicine, and will build on numerous existing collaborations to develop and evaluate digital interventions for public health and illness management, further details can be accessed here.
