The Faculty of Health Sciences is currently seeking an exceptional individual to lead our pre-qualifying Nursing programme in its next exciting phase of development. The Faculty offers strong, research-led undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes for nursing, healthcare sciences, midwifery, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and podiatry together with the most advanced clinical academic programme in the country.Clinical credibility is highly valued in the Faculty and, in negotiation with one of our Trust or practice partners, there will be opportunities to engage in practice or a clinical service.

If appointed to the Principal Teaching Fellow role, in addition to programme leadership you will bring to the Faculty a strong record of educational leadership which will enable you to engage in pedagogical development and capacity building within the Faculty. You will be able to work with a range of highly experienced colleagues in developing your national and international leadership role in the field of nurse education.

If appointed to the Associate Professor role, in addition to programme leadership, you will bring your already well established research portfolio to one of our four research groups and work in partnership with colleagues in one of the UK’s leading Health Sciences research environments to further develop your reputation as a national and international leader in research.

The post offers a committed and creative individual considerable latitude in leading the innovative development of an already strong Nursing Programme which meets the needs of health and social care in the next decade. You will provide dynamic and decisive leadership that inspires and motivates others in the transformation and delivery of both our undergraduate and postgraduate pre-qualifying programmes of nurse education.

To be successful in your application, you will have a background in Adult, Child or Mental Health Nursing, hold a PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and have experience in a specialised area of practice, for example, critical care.

You should have an established reputation and a proven track record of achievement in professional practice and education/continuing professional development. If applying for the Associate Professor role, a proven track record in research is also essential.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
