Job Description

The communication consultant will be appointed at the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences (FHS). The communication consultant is responsible for the overall recruitment of and communication with (prospective) students.

The main responsibilities are:

• Student recruitment for the bachelor and master programmes offered at Campus Venlo, entailing:

  • Developing the marketing strategy and campaign

  • Development of information materials

  • Organisation of in-house information activities

  • Contact with prospective students, high schools and regional higher education institutions

  • Visiting fairs

  • Updating online information (website, social media, external platforms)

     

• Communication with students and staff

• Participation and representation on behalf of Campus Venlo in various (UM) work groups.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate does recognize him/herself in the following profile

• A HBO/WO degree  and demonstrable experience in marketing and communications

• Knowledge of higher education in the Netherlands and Germany

• Knowledge of communication tools and trends (online and off)

• Experience and know how of setting up recruitment campaigns preferably in target region

• Affinity with and network in (and living in the proximity of) the Venlo region

• Excellent proficiency in spoken and written Dutch, English and German

• Good editing skills

• Experience with social media

• Excellent planning and organisational skills

• Self starting and able to ensure marketing success

• Helicopter view within scope of Campus Venlo , faculty, UM and region

Conditions

Your salary will be between € 2.532, - and € 3.997, - gross per month (on a full-term basis), according to salary scale 10, depending on qualifications and prior experience. On top of this, there is an 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance. Your job profile will be “Communicatieadviseur 3”. A career perspective is in place.

Campus Venlo

Campus Venlo is a branch of Maastricht University that is rapidly developing into a full fletched campus facilitating bachelor- and master education as well as academic research. Campus Venlo was founded in 2009 with the start of two mastersprogrammes, Health Food Innovation Management and Global Supply Chain Management and Change. Both masterprogrammes are tailormade and in line with the economic activities of the Venlo region, Logistics and Agro Food.

In september 2015 the University College Venlo (UCV) bachelors programme started. The UCV is a bachelors programme that enables students to choose their courses and therefore actively plan their curriculum and future. The UCV courses are based in the Life- and Social Sciences and have a special focus on Food, Feed and Health and Logistics and entrepreneurship.

The first of the academic research programmes have also started in 2015. In 2016 the necessary laboratories will be build at the Villa Flora Venue. The further roll-out of research programmes is planned for 2016.
