The Institute of Pharmaceutical Medicine (ECPM, www.ecpm.ch), located at the University of Basel, Switzerland, conducts quantitative-oriented research projects in the pharmaceutical and health care settings, with a focus on health economic evaluation (cost-effectiveness analysis), related modelling, health technology assessment and health services research.

To strengthen our team, we are offering the position of a Research Fellow in Health Economic Evaluation, 60-100%.

The successful applicant's background and professional experience will allow him or her to plan, co-ordinate, conduct and publish research projects in above-named and related areas of research. Involvement in academic teaching is an option.

Your profile

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree or master degree in health economics or a related academic discipline. They should have excellent skills in cost-effectiveness analysis, decision-analytic modelling in TreeAge and/or MS Excel software, and related generation of model input data. They should have appropriate working knowledge of the following fields: medicine, biostatistics, epidemiological methods, evidence synthesis, economics. Professional experience as an academic researcher is expected, with a proven ability to publish in reputable, international journals with peer-review. Additional requirements include appropriate communication skills, ability to work independently and pursue several projects in parallel; willingness to meet timelines; responsibility and enthusiasm. Work in our small, dedicated team implies a variety of responsibilities for all team members. Excellent mastery of English and German is required.

The appointment will be for one year in the first instance, with excellent prospects for extension. We offer flexible working conditions. Salary and terms of employment will be according to the rules of the University of Basel. Start of employment should be in summer 2016, to be agreed upon.
