The School Of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences

The School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences (SCMB) is one of the largest and most successful schools in the Faculty of Science. The School is well equipped for contemporary Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Microbiology research, and is supported by the University's outstanding major research infrastructure.

The Person

Applicants must possess at least an undergraduate degree majoring in the discipline in which they seek to demonstrate.  You will either have relatively recent experience with the course material or a demonstrated capacity to become familiar with the material in a short time.

You might be studying at Honours or postgraduate level at UQ or another university or be working as a Research Assistant or Postdoctoral Fellow.  Perhaps you have taught in your field at a significant level in the past and are looking to return to the workforce.

The selection process involves assessment of your application and an interview which includes a technical skills analysis.

Some training will be provided to successful applicants.

The Role

The School of Chemistry & Molecular Biosciences seeks casual demonstrators for undergraduate courses in Semester 2, 2016.

Hours will vary according to the class timetable. Classes typically run 9:50am-12:50pm and 1:50- 4:50pm on some or all of the weeks between 25th July and 28th October. A commitment for the whole of the semester is required. Some training is provided. The pay rate is $42.43 per hour ($50.74 for PhD-qualified).

Remuneration

The pay rate is $42.44 per hour ($50.75 for PhD-qualified).
