Job Details
The University of Queensland Press (UQP) was established in 1948 and is one of Australia's oldest and most respected publishing houses. We publish print and ebooks across a range of subjects, from literary fiction, general non-fiction and poetry, to children's and young adult books and academic books in fields such as cultural studies, history and peace and conflict studies, as well as custom publishing.
The role
The role will co-ordinate all marketing, publicity and communications for UQP, with the support of a Marketing Assistant. The position requires management of campaigns, liaising with authors, media, festival directors and a range of freelance publicists. Prudent management of the marketing budget to maximise effectiveness will be a crucial performance requirement.
The person
The successful applicant will have:

Demonstrated experience in developing and managing high-level relationships with media and key stakeholders

Demonstrated skills in designing effective marketing campaigns

A developed understanding of brand strategy

Experience managing a budget and staff

A proven interest in books and reading
Remuneration
This is a part-time (4 days per week), 1 year fixed-term appointment at HEW Level 7. Variation on level of part-time commitment will be considered. The remuneration package will be in the range $63,598.95- $ 69,560.50 p.a., plus 9.5% employer superannuation contributions (total package will be in the range of $69,640.85-$76,168.75, based on 4-day week).
