The University operates a broad professional shared service structure whereby all Financial Services are provided to all Divisions under a “Distributed Services” model. Faculties are grouped into 7 Divisions, and the deployment of Financial Services within the Divisions is the responsibility of each Divisional Finance Director who may have responsibility for one or more of these Divisions.

We are currently seeking a Finance Manager to provide effective, efficient financial management and accounting services for the Faculties of Pharmacy and Dentistry.

In this position, you will:

  • manage and provide assistance and guidance in regards to financial affairs and resources of the Faculties of Pharmacy and Dentistry;
  • build meaningful and productive relationships with internal stakeholders and key external agencies;
  • develop, implement and track budgets aligned to the University Economic Model (UEM);
  • prepare and submit management reports of Actuals, Budgets and Forecasts with associated supporting analysis, work-papers, schedules and explanations of major movements and variances;
  • resolve queries in a timely and customer focused manner.

 

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • superior written and verbal communications skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation;
  • excellent management accounting skills including budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss variance analysis;
  • ability to provide financial analysis based advice and support to client business units;
  • experience in reviewing business operations and recommending and implementing process improvement strategies effectively with minimum disruption to the business unit;
  • sound understanding of business and financial process management;
  • well-developed problem solving skills;
  • ability to interpret, apply and integrate complex financial policies and procedures, external requirements and accounting standards


Please note: While this position is based at our Camperdown campus, the successful candidate must be willing to travel to the Westmead campus at a minimum of 1 day per week.
