Trainee Technologist - Non Invasive Pulmonary

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Trainee Technologist - Non Invasive Pulmonary.

Responsibilities

The one year programme offers didactics and hands on experience on Pulmonary function Test (PFT) which includes the diagnosis of lungs disease.

Trainee will get the exposure to learn the functioning of Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) lab  which involves studies that provide information on the functional capacity of the lungs. Tests are done to diagnose certain type of lung diseases especially asthma, emphysema etc and to determine the cause of shortness of breath, also to measure whether occupational exposure to contaminants or cigarette smoking has affected lung function.

After successful completion of the traineeship, inpidual can independently perform: spirometry, pre and post bronchodilator, carbon monoxide diffusing capacity (DLCO), maximal respiratory pressure measurements, six minute walk test and pulse oximetry.

Full time employment may be offered upon successful completion of the traineeship programme and availability of the vacant position.
