We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scientist to join the Antibody Generation group to contribute to Merck's Biologics unit in Palo Alto. Primary responsibilities will include small to medium scale high throughput hybridoma antibody production and characterization to support lead generation programs across multiple therapeutic areas. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding as well as hands-on experience with all phases of hybridoma generation. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative and fluid environment and have the opportunity to incorporate innovative robotics approaches into antibody production and characterization.

The candidate is expected to be up-to-date on current Cell Biology best practices and advanced biosensor technologies

Qualifications

Education:

- BA/BS with a minimum of 2 years of related experience in cell biology, biochemistry, immunology or a related discipline of relevant experience

Required:

- Expertise in tissue culture (cell lines and hybridoma)

- Experience producing and/or characterizing antibodies from hybridomas

- Experience with quantitation and binding affnity methods using either SPR or Octet techniques

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
