Senior Lecturer (Clinical/ Counselling Psychology)

POSITION : Senior Lecturer (Clinical/ Counselling Psychology)

Minimum Requirements

• A Master's degree in Clinical / Counselling psychology (A PhD as well as any post graduate training would serve as a recommendation)
• Registration as Clinical/Counselling psychologist with the HPCSA
• At least 3 or more years practical experience as Clinical / Counselling psychologist in a hospital or private practice
• 1 year experience in clinical supervision of Master's students as a recommendation
• Experience doing forensic / psycho-legal work would serve as a recommendation
• Advanced experience and an interest in working with children and adolescents across a spectrum of disorders and treatments (recommendation) 

 

Other competency requirements:

• Good communication (verbally and written)
• Computer literacy(Microsoft office)
• The ability to work well independently and also in a team.
• Good time management and ability to work well under a lot of pressure.
• Ability to use e-media for teaching, studying and communication.
• A passion for service delivery and an interest in growing the business of the Institute of Psychology & Wellbeing
• Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU.
