Lecturer: Environmental Management

To lecture and contribute to curriculum development in Environmental and Occupational Studies, while providing support to the Department in pursuit of its objectives in teaching and learning, work integrated learning, research, and community engagement.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A Masters' Degree in Environmental Management or Environmental Science

• Base qualification: Environmental Management or Environmental Science

• At least two (2) years' relevant working experience, one of which must be in teaching

Recommendations

• PhD or equivalent 

• Research experience and research output in the Environmental Health and or Environmental Management Field

• Teaching experience in the subject Environmental Economics and Environmental Management Systems

• Successful supervision of postgraduates

• Record of publication in peer reviewed journals

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities

• Teach: Environmental Economics to Environmental Management students

• Supervise student projects

• Provide appropriate academic and administrative leadership in the department

• Participate in curriculum development

• Perform student assessments

• Participate in research

• Participate in Quality Assurance activities of the department

• Monitor and assess work integrated learning

• Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies

• Assist with marketing and recruitment activities

• Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
