Job Details
JOD Consultants report operationally to the Director, HR Consulting Services and functionally to the Lead JOD Consultants, and are responsible for:
- Ensuring the University’s mission and values are reflected in compensation program design, implementation and administration
- Maintaining internal equity through the administration of job evaluation using the Aiken plan and the Hay plan
- Promoting internal equity through the training and communication of Job and Organizational Design evaluation processes
- Working with the Lead Consultants and the HR Partner network on the development of plans for projects that vary in scope; including: organizational/job design, performance management, etc.
- Leading and supporting organizational and job design projects aimed at promoting effective, efficient work environments that assist in the attainment of the UofA’s organizational and Human Resources strategies
- Providing guidance and consultation to clients regarding organizational and job design
- Promoting an equitable and consistent approach to job categorization on campus; educating the campus community on the business benefits of up-to-date position descriptions, well-designed jobs and a consistent job evaluation process
- Building external equity through aligning campus positions to the employment market, participating and conducting compensation surveys, maintaining contacts with other employers and supporting negotiations with the University’s bargaining units
- Contributing to the broader efforts of Human Resources by embracing collaborative client relationships
To fill this position, we are seeking a professional with the following:
- Undergraduate Degree, preferably in Business, HR, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in job evaluation
- Strong expertise in compensation strategy and/or job design
- Demonstrated excellence in process improvement, redesign, and project management
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A Professional Human Resources designation (CHRP, CCP) designation and post-secondary or public sector experience are assets
- Experience utilizing a variety of job evaluation systems (e.g. factor analysis, point factor rating)
In accordance with the Administrative and Professional Officer Agreement, this full-time continuing position offers a comprehensive benefits package found at: www.hrs.ualberta.ca and annual salary range of $62,802 - $104,674 (commensurate with education and experience).
