Minimum Requirements:

Professor / Associate Professor:

• PhD relevant to Economics
• Extensive teaching experience in Economics that is consistent with the university’s staff promotions policy
• Extensive research and publication record that is consistent with the university’s staff promotion’s policy
• Evidence of post graduate supervision

Senior Lecturer:

• A PhD relevant to Economics
• At least 5 years lecturing experience in Economics that is consistent with the university’s staff promotions policy
• A proven Research track record that is consistent with the university’s staff promotions policy is an added advantage

Lecturer:

• A Master’s Degree relevant to Economics
• At least 03 years teaching experience in Economics
• Experience in research is an added advantage

Additional Recommendations:

• Demonstrate innovative thinking, teaching and learning skills. Availability to work evenings, weekends and sometimes away from home. Own transport

Summary of Duties:

Professor/Associate Professor

• Lecture at all levels in Economics
• Initiate and manage Research Activities in Economics
• Promote community Engagement within the department and cluster
• Supervise Masters and Doctoral research
• Conduct research and publish in reputable journals

Senior Lecturer/Lecturer

• Lecture at all levels in Economics
• Participate in the planning and development of programmes and learning/teaching material
• Participate in Community/External Engagement
• Undertake administration duties as assigned by the Programme/Section Coordinator and Head of Department
• Initiate and manage research activities and publish in reputable journals
• Supervise Masters and Doctoral research
