The school also maintains a small animal hospital and large animal clinic at Dayboro, north-west of Brisbane

Our state of the art Equine Hospital has been open since 2010 and has an enviable array or resources including in house CT, Fluoroscopy, digital radiology, Nuclear Scintigraphy, in house blood gas and haematology / biochemistry analysers, treadmill, ultrasonography, neonatal foal facilities, two surgery suites, isolation and separate intensive care facilities.

The role

We are seeking applications from suitable Veterinary Nursing candidates to join our team and provide high quality veterinary care within our busy Equine Specialist Hospital at the Gatton Campus. We seek an appropriately qualified and experienced veterinary nurse to work a roster which includes three (3) week days and weekend work (at afternoons and nights). In addition, a requirement of the position is to be on an on-call roster.

The person

Applicants for this position should possess a Certificate III or IV in Veterinary Nursing and/or Bachelors degree in Applied Science (Veterinary Technology) and be able to demonstrate at least two years of previous veterinary nursing experience.

Remuneration

Depending on experience of the successful applicant salary will be remunerated at 60% of either Hew Level 3 $50,768.52 - $56,359.40 (pro rata) or Hew Level 4 $57,698.64 - $61,462.02 (pro rata) PLUS payment at penalty rates for rostered weekend hours in accordance with the University's Enterprise Agreement provisions.

In addition, remuneration will include employer superannuation contributions of 9.5% for ordinary time earnings.
