Merck is currently seeking exceptional chemists for positions within the Discovery Chemistry Department located at our Boston, MA and West Point, PA sites. A successful candidate will work in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment and will make contributions across the scope of discovery development:

- Discovery and optimization of drug candidates through development of structure-activity relationships

- Target identification and validation through chemistry

- Application of the best modality (peptide, biologics, bioconjugates, and small molecules) and technique (cheminformatics, chemical biology) to enable clear decision making

- Collaborative engagement with the external scientific community

Success across this spectrum will necessitate the application of the latest advances in chemistry and the development of innovative approaches to address new chemistry challenges.

Qualifications

Education:

- Ph.D. in Chemistry

Required:

- Experience in methodology/catalysis, total synthesis, chemical biology, or physical organic chemistry

- A proven track record of solving complex problems
